The next Two-headed Calf adventure is called You, My Mother (The Chamber Opera Project), where 3 playwrights have been paired up with 3 composers to create 3 chamber opera-y things.

It’s going to be amazing!

The pairings are Lisa D’Amour with Chaya Czernowin, Kristen Kosmas with Rick Burkhardt and Karinne Keithley Syers and me!

And the music will be performed by the incredible piano and
percussion quartet, Yarn/Wire, plus strings.

The showings are at the University Settlement, May 19-21 –

Next Thursday – Saturday!

Two mini-updates:

One: It was really great to workshop Jason Grote’s new play Civilization (All You Can Eat).
It’s a soon-to-be Clubbed Thumb production, directed by Seth Bockley and it was great to
get to explore it through sound and music – a rarity in theater, unfortunately!
So thanks Maria, Jason, Seth and all!

Two: I am super excited to be assisting composer Josh Schmidt (of Adding Machine fame)
on his newest musical, The Minster’s Wife. It opens in the Spring at Lincoln Center – come see it!

Du Fu, Mississippi was a super great success and a really fun time
was had by all at the New Orleans Fringe Fest!

I was fortunate to round up the musicians and get into the amazing
Piety Studios and record some of the music.
It’s in an un-mastered state but I still want all to hear.

Some songs here:
